Designed and manufactured by 312photobooth.

As promised, we have been super busy over the last few weeks! But alas, our new Digital-Retro Photobooth design is complete! This stunning new booth was put into service this week and you'd never know it was digital! We worked extra hard on the details and it was worth all the effort (and lack of sleep). We haven't officially named this model yet. For now, we're just calling it our Mock-14, in homage to our favorite Model-14 from the good old days of chemical booths! The challenge, as always, is making something new look like it just came off the boardwalk in New Jersey after 50 year stint. The trick is a mix of some old true vintage parts, signs, etc, paired with the right selection of building materials. Also, we create vintage inspired signage, lettering, for the perfect touch. Of course, there's also a secret sauce behind the doors, i.e., lighting, software modifications, camera placement, etc. Sorry, we can't give it all away!

The major change from our first Digital-Retro model is the roof, which we've altered to accomodate different event settings. Also, we used a new exterior wood grain laminate that is flawless and of super high-quality! This is not stuff you'll find on your grandma's countertop... but maybe her table? That is, if your grandma has one of those super cool 50's tables with the metal edging? With that said, we're just thrilled to have it out and working. Next up on the drafting table table is a Mock-11 or a Mock-9? Those are very difficult to fabricate, but it will be done! So, stay tuned for that in the near future. And of course, if you're looking to buy a custom digital photobooth, just give us a yell! In the shop we're currently building a few machines for clients, clubs and future events. We are staying very busy, but always have time to talk photobooth!

The blog has been silent for a few days, but for good reason! We've been busy designing and building new digital booths. Of course, we've also been working on some top secret vintage photobooth projects... to be released later this year. Sorry, it's secret, really!

On other fronts, as of June 2009, we'll be donating 1.5% of all photobooth event sales to the American Cancer Society. It's a good cause worth the effort. We're calling it "Photobooth for Cancer". Spread the word!

More coming soon...!! Promise!
If you are not familiar with them, get cracking!

Special thanks to Colleen C. of Yelp, and Paulette of the Ranch for all their help! Thanks! Supposedly, they were once at the Texas State Fair (via Georgia)? One booth will be lightly refurbished and put back into service, while the other will be completely restored. The restored booth is for Brian of photobooth.net. This will be his first photobooth, owned! And true to Brian's form, he wants it to be as close to orginal as possible. While the booth has lost a few of its orginal pieces, I'm confident we can bring it back. After getting them off the truck, I started to pull off the paneling. To my suprise, the orginal material and finish is still underneath. It has some glue which will need to be removed, but otherwise decent! It is also missing some trim, and what would have been the orginal sign on the front of the cabinet, but I can work around this. The idea is to bring it back as close as possible to that true vintage model 14 form. I'll continue to post photos of the process... however, Brian wants to get his hands dirty, so, I'm holding back as much as possible. Right now, just going to strip it, and determine what needs to be done.

Just for good measure, here is a photo of a VERY NICE Model 14 we refurbished for the Neo-Futurist's. It was hard to let go of this gem, but it's in good hands!

Also, note that we have modeled our Digital-Retro booth (above) very closely to the Model-14. We currently manufacture the Digital-Retro for resale, and place them in various venues. Interested? Let us know!

On other fronts: we have a lot to post... a lot of news, and yes, still need to recap the 2009 IPC!!! We had a blast and the photos to prove it!!

FYI: We have officially left Google's Blooger, and have moved to a new service. So, stay tuned to the new and improved 312photobooth blog!
